Previously home to the Mayan Civilization, then colonized by the Spanish in the 16th century, Guatemala is named after "a place of many trees" in Nahuatl. It has high mountain ranges valleys, and multiple volcanoes. The soil is great for growing coffee and a variety of plants can be grown in its different climates.
